Week 4

MondayWe kicked off the week by going over some important guidelines for working in the school after hours—what’s allowed, what’s not, and how to stay safe and responsible. We also had a session on task management, where we learned how to organize our time and submit assignments properly. Toward the end of the day, we were introduced to a typing tool that we’ll be using throughout the week to improve our speed and accuracy. It was a productive start that helped set the tone for the days ahead.

TuesdayThe morning started with Mr. Mark and was all about exploring different shading techniques. We were introduced to a variety of methods and asked to practice them to see where our current skill level stands. It was a useful exercise that helped highlight what we need to improve. Later in the day, we had to show our teacher the progress we made on our pendulum swing animation. We also got some time to practice using another software, giving us more hands-on experience with different tools.

Wednesday: It was break from the usual routine as we had the whole day off. Even though there were no scheduled activities, I kept myself busy. I spent some time reading, catching up on a few things, and watching YouTube videos to unwind and stay entertained. It was a nice midweek pause to recharge before getting back to work.

Thursday: We were given a task focused on proper shading techniques. It was a hands-on exercise meant to help us improve our understanding of light, shadow, and depth in our work. Anyone who didn’t finish was expected to take it home and bring it back completed next week. In the afternoon, since our teacher wasn’t present, I decided to make the most of the time by continuing with my shading. It was a good opportunity to stay focused and push my work a bit further.

Friday: The day started off pretty relaxed. In the morning, we didn’t have any major tasks lined up, so I took the opportunity to experiment with the Wacom tablet and explore some of the animation software. It was a good chance to play around creatively and get more comfortable with the tools Later in the afternoon, we headed to the auditorium for an important group discussion. We covered a range of social topics, including male privilege, sexual orientation, and lessons on harassment. These conversations were insightful and necessary, helping us understand the importance of respect, inclusivity, and awareness both in our work and daily lives.

After hours, I stayed behind to work on the pen exercise, taking the extra time to focus and refine my work. I ended up leaving around 7 PM, feeling productive and satisfied with the progress I made.
